Fizzy Ginger Drink That Isn't So Sweet

Make your own refreshing carbonated drink


The ginger ale available in grocery stores is just too sweet for me! This recipe allows me to have a invigorating carbonated ginger drink without so much sugar.


The ingredients are just crystallized ginger, a cinnamon stick, and water. You can find small packages of crystallized ginger where Chinese food items are in some grocery stores. I buy 5 pound bags on Amazon from a the seller Green Bulk to keep the cost down.



Fizzy Ginger Drink


Ingredients

4.5 ounces of crystallized ginger

1 cinnamon stick

2.5 cups of water


Directions

1. Bring everything to a boil over high heat. Boil for 2 minutes. Turn heat off and steep for at least an hour.

2. Strain and refrigerate (I keep mine in a mason jar in the fridge).

3. Mix 1/4 cup of your concentrated ginger solution with 6-8 ounces of carbonated mineral water over a glass of ice.
